The Royal Bafokeng Nation is a diverse, fascinating part of the Rustenburg Valley in South Africa’s North West Province.
The Bafokeng people are of Tswana descent and speak the Setswana language, which is one of South Africa’s 11 official languages. These traditional people come from a long line of crafters who have passed down their wood-carving, basket weaving and beading skills from generation to generation. Today you can see the wonderful results throughout RBN at various tourist sites and utilised in traditional Tswana homes.
